BBq’d tofu

In a bowl or a ziploc combine the following…

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup hoisin sauce

juice of 1 lemon

2 cloves of minced garlic

hot sauce (optional)

2 blocks of very firm organic tofu

The trick to making tofu have that meaty consistency is to first freeze it and then either let it de thaw over night or simply microwave which takes no time at all. Open the package and squeeze as much water out as possible and place in marinade.

After the mixture marinades for a few hrs or even better, overnight, slice the block in half to make it thinner and bbq it until crispy on each side. Notice the grill marks!

I then sliced each half on the bias (like you would a bbq chicken breast).
