Happy Canada Day! What did you do to celebrate? The girls and I had a bbq at my mom’s and the weather was perfect.
I love entertaining but I’ve never been one to save my good stuff for company. Expensive silverware and linen is nice but why store it away and only use it for company?
While we’re at it….why spend a fortune on the so-called good stuff when little old ladies are practically giving their good stuff away?
The girls asked me to take them to Goodwill so that they could do some bargain shopping with their babysitting money. How can I say no to that? While wandering around the store waiting for them, I started eyeing pretty little dishes and mismatched glasses everywhere. I had an epiphany!
Ok so epiphany is a strong word but I did decide at that moment that these forgotten dishes, bowls, serving platters and glasses would be my new designer china.
The cheapest started at 49 cents while my splurge pie plate when for $2.50. It’s not the price that attracted me to this idea though, it was the countless ideas in my head for putting them all together on a long dining table set for company. No one will get the same setting and I love that idea!
Next the place mats, then the funky wine glasses and vases and………I just need a house now 🙂
So here is one of my favourite purchases.
Any guesses what this cute little dish is for? I’ll tell you tomorrow.
