Where is my stuff??

December 10, 2010

Seriously?    Are they kidding?   3 months ago I put my most precious belongings (besides the teenagers) on a ship from Canada to Australia.   Still waiting……

I’m a high maintenance foody.    I feel no guilt.  Shoes and stuff that plugs in for cooking are my weaknesses.

I’ve had enough of one wooden spoon, a big plastic dollar store bowl and tinfoil baking pans.    Seriously, I don’t know how they managed without a Magic bullet in the olden days.

Kitchenaide   your bread has been greatly missed and the thought of no cinnamon raisin loaves at Christmas is almost unthinkable.

Cuisinart you have no idea how I long for your  coconut butter.

Excalibur   you will be the first to test Australian voltage for my most missed oatgurt and Raw pizza crust

Spirooli slicer I have loads of yellow zuchinni in my garden just waiting for you.

Saeco   I love you and will always have a special place in the kitchen but for now it’s just too damn hot!

And finally, Vitamix   how I miss you in so many ways.  Nut butter hasn’t been the same but most of all, this girl is in need of some serious green goodness.

Waking up to 26 degrees by 9 a.m. with no air conditioning has made my beloved coffee go down like hot tar lately.    I’m really thinking of redoing the whole coffee, breakfast cookie thing.

It only took three years.

This morning I tried Brancakes from Kisses for Breakfast.

Great idea!  I suspect my oat bran wasn’t thick enough as it took many microwave tries to get it right but once I did, I could tell that this was a very versatile recipe and I can’t wait to try again tomorrow.  Not to brag but my date butter was so good on this with a little peanut butter underneath.

What’s your favorite kitchen toy?

It would be a tie between my Kitchen Aide Stand Mixer and my Immersion Blender.

Oh pleeeaase! Ms. I’m going to spend 1 month in Costa Rica! You’ll be getting better weather than me. We’re supposed to have the wettest summer in 10 yrs here. Figures

Emily I made your brancake again this morning but cooked the oat bran to make it thicker, then added Kabocha and it was yum!

Could you do a post on your VitaMix. I’ve often thought of getting one, but fear I’d juice for a day and then bag it – so what else do you use it for? Can you seriously make soup in it? I think that’s what I’d want to use mine for, more than juicing.
