See how my garden grows

November 14, 2010

Remember my little garden?   Check these photos out, the left is from only 1 month ago and the other from today!  What in the picture is missing?

Yes, flippers!   I used to love that game in the Sunday paper.

Summer doesn’t even officially begin until Dec 21st and I know I’ll be harvesting, at the very least, some yellow zucchinis by then. I’ve never seen vegetables grow like this and I’m pretty sure if all goes well I can do a second planting in January.

These yellow zucchinis have quickly taken over this part of the garden and I’m trying to figure out how to save the 4 red pepper plants drowning in its shade.  I also have some baby squash growing out of control and quickly escaping from the small space I planted them in.

My herb garden has already provided me with pesto for Friday’s black eyed pea salad

In case you were wondering, the bricks were placed there to hold down the netting that I had to use in attempt to keep out possums.  After several lost plants, I seem to have won the battle.

5 tomato plants have grown like monsters but only just started producing flowers.

I’m the most excited about these future pumpkins!

When I grow up I want a a big old house with a big old verandah and a HUMONGOUS vegetable garden.  Apple and cherry trees and a chicken pen with fat hens laying eggs just for me. Either that or a really nice condo downtown with a farmers market on Sundays.

You already had the first minus the chicken coup, so I would go with the second choice!

I hate you and you forgot to call me tonight like you said you would. Good thing I wasn’t holding my breath and that I still love you. BTW – Bev Gabrielli’s husband died yesterday. Call me for details.
