Did you guess…….
It’s not a pretty ashtray for the ladies bridge meet up.
Alex thinks it’s a platter to serve chocolate covered strawberries (that she would never eat by the way).
Josee tells me it’s for candy of different colours.
I bought it cause it was the cutest devilled egg dish I’d ever seen. Wrong.
When the man gets home I proudly show him my purchases for the day of which I’m particularly proud of my devilled egg holder.
After a somewhat long questioning look he asks me, “really?” ”what do you mean really?” I ask him. “why would you put eggs on a snail plate?” he asks.
Seeing as he is french and has been served snails before…..I say no more.
Whatever. This is my plate and there will be no snails served here. This is a devilled egg plate and a part-time Chocolate peanut butter fudge plate.
Check out CCK for this recipe and if you’re not lucky enough to have this fudge dish then ice-cube trays or a small dish work just as well.
I can’t wait to try this melted on oats for breakfast. Maybe frozen and chopped to stir into yogurt/cottage cheese or just used as an icing for donuts.
No sugar, good fats and antioxidants all rolled together into a little ball of melt in your mouth yummy.

Hmmm……all the “snail plates” I have seen , had deep round holes in ‘em……I could be wrong tho……
Good point Mr. Sepa. Steve insists the 2 circles in the middle are for butter but I like you thought it was very shallow. Then I wondered what the 2 circles would be for if it was indeed a devilled egg plate. Maybe the mystery remains??
Oh my gosh, you are too funny! And too smart, as well! Who wouldn’t choose chocolate fudge over devilled eggs, right?
I love love love your new use for the plate.
And I love love love that last photo. It is currently 6am here, but I’m seriosuly thinking about going to grab some fudge in my freezer now. It’s all your fault!
Thanks Katie but really it’s all your fault that I’ve eaten the entire batch in less than 24 hrs! I’m going to try it with walnuts and raisins next time.
Yep it is for Escargot. Nasty little snails.
